If he is known for his self-sacrifice on the pitch, Antonio Rüdiger is also a dedicated man in everyday life. This Friday, BILD reports that the Real Madrid defender is currently leading a huge donation campaign for Berlin’s homeless. Around 1,700 t-shirts, sweatpants, hoodies and even sneakers from its sponsor Under Armor were sent.

Christian Ceconi, municipal director of the German capital, spoke on the subject: “People like Antonio Rüdiger are a blessing. It’s wonderful when they contact us beforehand and then bring exactly what we need in an emergency.” According to BILD, the player would have contacted the city municipality after being made aware of the emergency situation. Today, more than 180 people in need visit the establishment daily to find basic necessities.
