Kevin De Bruyne could choose to leave Manchester City to join a Saudi Pro League club next summer.
According to Rudy Galetti, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) has renewed its interest in the Manchester City star after resuming contact with the player, whom it considers a prime target for next summer.
De Bruyne’s current contract with the Cityzens expires in 2025, meaning he could look to evaluate his options in the summer of 2024, when there will be just one year left on his current contract. In October 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr reportedly expressed interest in the former Chelsea star. He even attracted the attention of a second division Saudi club, Al-Qadsiah.
The 32-year-old has only featured in one Premier League match since the start of the season. He actually contracted a muscle injury during the first day of the championship against Burnley and had to undergo surgery. He recently returned to training and was included in the match day squad against Sheffield United on December 30. It remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola will start the midfielder on Sunday, when the Cityzens play their first match of 2024 against Huddersfield, in the third round of the FA Cup.
