José Mourinho has revealed the release date of his documentary on Netflix. Roma coach expects viewers to call him ‘idiot’
The charismatic Portuguese manager, who has previously worked at Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham, has allowed cameras to follow his life on and off the bench. Fans are about to find out who Mourinho is.
A pharaonic offer for Mourinho
The 60-year-old tactician has never been one to hold his tongue, and he admits his behavior – which has already made headlines over the years – may not be to everyone’s taste. However, he prides himself on always being very honest and does not hide the fact that pharaonic offers outside Italy continue to reach him.
Mourinho spoke after watching Roma beat Cremonese 2-1 in the Coppa Italia round of 16 on Wednesday: “I’ll give you some news, a documentary about me is starting on Netflix, it’s a documentary about my career and it starts Thursday. There are things that will only be known there, they pay me well. I hadn’t yet signed with Roma, but I had given my word. A club came and wanted me to break my agreement with Roma, which was not yet signed, and I said no. When the documentary comes out, everyone will say I’m an idiot. When Portugal arrived, I immediately spoke to the president about it. When Saudi Arabia arrived, I immediately spoke to the president about it. That’s why I don’t think they talk to other coaches behind my back, for me it’s not like that because there is reciprocity.”
Mourinho, who recently admitted he hopes to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the Middle East, will see his current contract with AS Roma expire in the summer of 2024. He has hinted he will accept a new lease at the Stadio Olimpico as he approaches his three-year tenure in the Italian capital.
