In 2024, Paris Saint-Germain will have their work cut out for them. On the pitch, Luis Enrique’s men will have to retain their title of champion of France, while playing hard in the Champions League and the Coupe de France. For this, the residents of the Parc des Princes are counting on the winter transfer window. A market which started well since the French team beat the competition to secure the Brazilian hopefuls Lucas Beraldo (20 years old) and Gabriel Moscardo (18 years old). But the latter is already injured. On Sunday, he announced on Instagram that he would be absent for several weeks.

“Dear friends and supporters. With 2023 coming to an end, I remember that this year offered me the incredible opportunity to make my professional debut at Corinthians. I would like to announce to you all my decision to carry out a small surgical procedure on my left foot in the coming days. After recent exams, it looks like this preventive operation will keep me away from the field for three months. This will allow me to come back stronger and pursue my dreams and career. 2024 will be a wonderful year, I am convinced. Happy New Year everyone ! »

Luis Enrique wants another environment

But this does not change the club’s plans regarding him, even if the different parties have to iron out some additional details. Questioned by Le Parisien, a source close to PSG said yesterday: “It’s very long term. Even with a small delay linked to his operation, it was more important to have him with us than with a rival. Despite everything, this hiccup risks changing the initial plans of the Ile-de-France club, which wanted to recruit a versatile left back by the end of January.

This Tuesday, The Team reveals that Luis Enrique wants an additional midfielder. Several weeks ago, he had asked for an experienced player to strengthen the midfield. Moscardo was recruited in the meantime. But with his injury, the absences, including that of Kang-In Lee, and the many deadlines approaching, the Spanish technician would like to be able to count on another environment. The sports daily did not cite any leads. But yesterday the Telegraph revealed that Kalvin Phillips (Manchester City) is one of PSG’s priorities. But it is also that of Newcastle. Paris has been warned…
