Ever since signing with Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, Kylian Mbappé has been breaking records for the capital club as he aims for the top. A French football legend is enraptured by the young striker.
At only 24 years old, Kylian Mbappé is already the all-time top scorer for PSG (221 goals), a historic club in the French league that has seen many legends come and go. The World Cup champion once again demonstrated the extent of his talent during the ninth matchday of Ligue 1, scoring a goal from a penalty and providing an assist in Paris’ 3-0 victory over Strasbourg. It’s no surprise that Mbappé has become the idol of young Parisian supporters, as well as the older generation. This is certainly the case for Dominique Rocheteau, who is completely in awe of the performances of the captain of the French national team. Speaking on Europe 1 Sport, the former player for AS Saint-Etienne and PSG (1980 – 1987) was particularly effusive in his praise for Kylian Mbappé.
“Kylian Mbappé is my favorite player. What he does is exceptional, he’s the one who makes the difference every time. He impresses me” exclaims the former striker in awe of the performances of the forward who made his mark at AS Monaco. These compliments will surely please Mbappé, coming from the first player in PSG history to score 100 goals for the club. Up until the rise of Mbappé, Dominique Rocheteau was actually the top French scorer for Paris. The Green Angel can only bow to his successor, who could nevertheless leave the capital club at the end of the season.
