Unwanted in England after his sexual assault case, for which he was not convicted, Mason Greenwood lives again in La Liga. And that would interest FC Barcelona…

He is a player with a sulphurous past who could land at FC Barcelona. Mason Greenwood, according to The Sun, would thus be on the shelves of the Catalan club.

The English striker was a great hope for Manchester United, but his career was turned upside down at the start of 2022 when his partner accused him of attempted rape and sexual assault. The charges were subsequently withdrawn, but the player’s image was sufficiently tarnished in England (the plaintiff had posted photos and videos of the misdeeds loaned to Greenwood) for the Red Devils to decide to part with him.

With Messi’s No. 10 at Barça?

At the start of the season, Mason Greenwood was therefore loaned to La Liga, to Getafe, where he received a rather quiet reception, compared to the treatment he might have received from supporters of other teams in the Premier League. Author of three goals and four assists in 14 days, the 22-year-old striker brings a lot to his new team.

Barça would therefore be interested in Greenwood, and the Sun mentions a transfer worth more than 40 million euros, the price that would have to be paid to recover a player who still belongs to Manchester United. According to the tabloid, Barça would even be ready to offer Greenwood the legendary number 10 of Lionel Messi, left vacant by Ansu Fati. This would undoubtedly make some people cringe, but remember that this is the Sun, which calls for caution regarding this information.
