Toni Kroos will request a contract extension from Real Madrid in 2024.
The veteran German midfielder has signed a new one-year extension at the start of the 2023/24 season to extend his stay in Madrid. Kroos and his long-time midfield partner Luka Modric were both persuaded to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, despite the latter being tipped to leave.
However, Kroos’ situation is different, as he has played a bigger role this season, as an experienced executive in Carlo Ancelotti’s team. The club are yet to enter into negotiations with either player regarding their future, but Kroos is said to be in a better position.
According to the latest information from Mundo Deportivo, Kroos wants to extend his contract by 12 months, as he prepares to celebrate his 34th birthday at the start of 2024. Data from the current season suggests that Real Madrid will make an offer to Kroos, but it could include a salary reduction as part of the negotiations.
