Stefano Pioli, the current coach of AC Milan, assured that he did not fear a dismissal at all.
AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli insists he is not worried about his position at the San Siro. He prefers to stay positive and look forward rather than assuming the worst.
Milan ended its calendar year with a narrow success against Sassuolo (1-0). The result was there, but not the way. This is therefore only half reassuring as the team has had a string of poor performances in recent weeks.
Pioli does not lose hope
Pioli is therefore necessarily threatened, but that does not seem to worry him too much. “I’m not afraid. I would like the team to express its full potential. We need to be better positioned on the ground. Be more compact in terms of quality and timing.”
The man who gave the Rossonerri their first league title since 2011 has demanded more investment from his troops. “We must always leave the field knowing that we gave everything. We made some mistakes which had an impact on the outcome of some of our matches. The positive point is that we create many scoring chances, the negative point is that we have to be more compact.”
Regarding reservations regarding the lack of leadership within the Milan squad, Pioli replied: “ It is wrong to talk about a lack of leadership within the team. We are a hard-working group, always trying to improve, growing and aware that we are not performing as well as we could be. We can all improve. “
