Karim Benzema appears to have deleted his Instagram account after Al-Ittihad’s 5-2 defeat to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
Al-Ittihad were beaten 5-2 by Al-Nassr, with a double from Ronaldo from the penalty spot, a double from Sadio Mane and a goal from Anderson Talisca. Benzema provided one assist, but he has only scored once in his last four outings, with Al-Ittihad having just one victory and falling to sixth place in the Saudi Pro League. And the former Real Madrid player seems to have purged his Instagram account.
Benzema’s page on the photo-sharing site had 76 million followers, but it was suspended or deleted, according to talkSPORT. In terms of footballers, only Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé have more followers than the 36-year-old.
Benzema made 20 appearances for Al-Ittihad and scored 12 goals. He is yet to win any trophies with the Saudi club, who were knocked out of the Club World Cup in the second round by Al-Ahly, although he still features in the AFC Champions League and Cup of the King.
