Mo Salah is unlikely to leave Liverpool to join Saudi Arabia in January, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Salah was the subject of considerable offers from the Saudi Pro League during the summer transfer period. Al-Ittihad saw a massive €175 million offer rejected by Liverpool in the final days of the summer. But it has been widely reported that Al-Ittihad and other Saudi clubs will return to bid again in 2024.

Some reports even claimed that the new supply would be a world record. However, Romano says he doesn’t think a transfer could happen in January. “ The situation is very calm regarding Mo Salah and a Saudi transfer, however,” the transfer specialist said on CaughtOffside.

The Saudis still appreciate him and still dream of Salah for their project. “It’s not something concrete for the January transfer window.” Neymar still holds the record for the biggest transfer of all time for his move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017.

The Parisians paid 222 million euros to bring the Brazilian to the Parc des Princes, thus respecting the striker’s release clause in his contract with Barcelona. The Brazilian, ironically, now plays in Saudi Arabia for Al-Hilal after leaving PSG last summer.
