French striker Antoine Griezmann has said he is in awe of one of the opponents he faced in the Spanish La Liga.
Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has admitted his frustration after last night’s draw against Getafe.
Griezmann bows to Getafe star
Griezmann scored twice during this game at the Wanda Metropolitano. But it wasn’t enough to win. He admitted he struggled to contain Mason Greenwood, the Getafe striker on loan from Manchester United. “He made us suffer a lot and we couldn’t stop him”he confided at the final whistle.
“It’s a shame, ten of us made a big effort. It’s a shame that (Stefan) Savic made two fouls and received two yellow cards. We wanted the three points, but what happened happened.”added the French international.
During this match, “Grizou” was able to equal Luis Aragones’ goal total in the Matelassiers jersey. But he was careful not to talk about it when the final whistle blew. All that interested him was the collective performance. “We are very good, happy and confident. There are matches that we win, others that we endure. There is no fatigue, we are very happy because it is a job that everyone dreams of. Let’s leave fatigue aside.”
