The Olympique Lyonnais midfielder indirectly addressed a tackle to Fabio Grosso, recently dismissed from his position as coach with Les Gones.
It was a casting error. Going for Fabio Grosso to replace Laurent Blanc was not the best decision by the new leaders of Olympique Lyonnais. The former coach of the modest Italian team Frosinone (March 2021-June 2023) contributed to plunging Les Gones a little further into crisis.
Fabio Grosso, 46, managed seven OL matches, all in Ligue 1, for one victory (1-0 at Rennes), two draws and four defeats. This assessment precipitated his departure, effective November 30, 2023. Pierre Sage was then appointed with interim status. And the team is starting to look up at the end of the year, as evidenced by the two consecutive victories against Toulouse (3-0) and Monaco on Friday evening (0-1).
