The season has been very difficult for David Alaba, who is nevertheless in high demand.
After Eder Militao’s serious knee injury at the start of the season, the Austrian was expected to take charge of Real Madrid’s defense, but quite the opposite happened. Alaba has been responsible for several goals this season, which has brought his place in the team into question. Antonio Rudiger performed much better and, when Militao returns, the German could be in pole position to accompany him in attack.
This could mean that Real Madrid are looking to sell Alaba and, according to Sport, they have set a price tag of €60 million for the centre-back. This request comes as Manchester United, Juventus and Al-Ittihad are interested in the player.
Real Madrid have been linked with recruiting a young centre-back over the next couple of years, and Alaba’s departure would allow that to happen smoothly. However, the 31-year-old has no plans to leave the club at this stage, which could scupper a sale.
