Manchester City captain Kyle Walker insists his side remain well placed to win the English league title.

Manchester City still hungry for trophies

Walker is also confident of his team’s success at the Club World Cup. The Sky Blues will enter the competition this week.

During an intervention on talkSPORT, he confided: “I think the championship is more open than it has ever been in recent years. But I think if we do what we need to do and what we can do based on the last few years, we will be in a good position (to retain the title).”

Regarding the Club World Cup, he said: “Coming here and doing what I did at Manchester City was incredible, but we are missing a trophy. We will go to Saudi Arabia after Crystal Palace and we want to win the Club World Cup.”

Man City will play their half of the Club World Cup on December 19 against the winner of the quarter between Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) and Leon (Mexico).
