After Lazio’s defeat against Atlético, Maurizio Sarri revealed the team he would like to face in the C1 round of 16.

In difficulty in Series A (10th, eight points from the podium), the Lazio Rome still managed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League by finishing second in Group E behind Atlético Madrid. The Romans could have finished first by winning against the Colchoneros on Wednesday but were beaten 2-0 by Antoine Griezmann and his gang.

Not a huge disappointment in itself for Mattéo Guendouzi and his teammates since this is only the second time that the Biancocelesti have reached this stage of the competition. Not enough to impress the volcanic Maurizio Sarri, who even hopes to come across FC Barcelona. “At this stage of the competition, given that Barça is the only big team that I miss in my career, we hope to play against Barcelona. I’m disappointed they’re playing in a different stadium this season (Camp Nou is under construction), but it is an adversary that is missing from my course and I would go willingly”, confided the Italian technician at a press conference. It must be said that among the first groups, the Catalan club is far from being the one that scares the most this season.
