Shock at the top of Group F, the confrontation between Borussia Dortmund and PSG could spell the end of Parisian hopes in this Champions League.
PSG has its back against the wall. After returning empty-handed from their trips to Newcastle (4-1) then to Milan (2-1) and having had to settle for a draw against these same Magpies, the capital club is obliged to take on the pitch of Borussia Dortmund to be certain of qualifying for the round of 16. In the event of a draw and defeat, the Parisians will have to hope for a favorable result between Newcastle and AC Milan.
The meeting is therefore crucial for PSG, who have systematically played in the round of 16 of the Champions League since the club’s takeover by QSI in 2011. Luis Enrique and Marquinhos were confident at a press conference, despite the shortcomings displayed during their two previous trips to the European scene or the absence of Ousmane Dembélé, the most prominent Ile-de-France player in the competition since the start of the season.
The Parisians nevertheless have some reasons to be optimistic, notably thanks to the returns of Marquinhos and Warren Zaire-Emery. Kylian Mbappé will be lined up at the forefront and hopes to make an impression. And Borussia Dortund, already qualified for the round of 16, do not seem at their best and will have to deal with numerous absences.
The PSG match will kick off at 9:00 p.m., with the match being broadcast on Canal+ Foot as well as RMC Sport 1.
