Empoli opened the doors of its Carlo Castellani stadium in Lecce for an important meeting for the locals who were hoping to give themselves some breathing space to move away from the bottom of the standings. During a contested and balanced game, the Salentini opened the scoring thanks to Lameck Banda (64th) but the Tuscan Azzurri were able to take advantage of Hamza Rafia’s CSC to equalize (71st).
