Huge clash between Guardiola and Carragher!

Tension has risen a notch between the Manchester City coach and the former Liverpool player, author of a scathing tweet aimed at the Citizens.

Manchester City is in trouble. While they have a meeting this Wednesday evening on the lawn of Aston Villa, one of the nice surprises of this start of the season, the Citizens remain in three consecutive draws in the Premier League, certainly against big names : Chelsea (4-4), Liverpool (1-1) and Tottenham (3-3). This bad patch has earned the reigning champions some criticism, something that Pep Guardiola, their coach, seems to have difficulty coping with.

While Manchester City is aiming for a fourth consecutive coronation, unheard of in England, the Spanish technician has indeed taken on the trio of Sky Sports consultants, Gary Neville, Micah Richard and Jamie Carragher, insisting on the difficulty of string together championship titles. “We know how difficult it is. Otherwise, Gary Neville would have won four (consecutive) Premier Leagues in Manchester United’s best period. But he did not do it, he said at a press conference. Jamie Carragher hasn’t won a single one. Micah Richards has not won four Premier Leagues in a row. This never happened. It’s more likely to not happen than to happen. It’s so hard to do it over and over again. We don’t have what others have, who haven’t for many, many years. »

The ex-midfielder’s outburst was obviously not to the taste of Jamie Carragher, who did not hesitate to respond to him on X, formerly Twitter. “ I think I probably would have won one (title) if Liverpool were part of a nation state and had pushed the rules so far that the Premier League would have sanctioned us 115 times,” he wrote, taking care to add: ” I was actually praising Pep’s team after Sunday’s game.»
