In recent weeks, there have been reports of Bayern Munich’s interest in Ronald Araujo.
However, FC Barcelona has shown great firmness, as it does not intend to let the Uruguayan international leave.
Araujo is not the only Barcelona defender in Bayern’s sights. According to Bild, Clément Lenglet would be a target for the German champion, who has big problems in central defense. Kim Min-Jae and Matthijs de Ligt are both injured, leaving Dayot Upamecano as the club’s only top-class central defender.
FC Barcelona are very keen to sell Lenglet, although they were unable to do so during the summer. He was therefore loaned to Aston Villa, where he struggled to establish himself (with the exception of participation in the Europa Conference League).
For Bayern to sign Lenglet (it is not yet clear whether he wants a loan or a permanent contract), Aston Villa would have to allow his loan to be terminated early. FC Barcelona will therefore have to wait until next summer to begin negotiations with the Bundesliga giants.
