While waiting to find out what the summer transfer window will give, Olympique Lyonnais will prepare away from Groupama Stadium for the next season. A calendar that somewhat annoys those who wanted to see OL this summer.
The season ended with a sad defeat in Nice for Olympique Lyonnais, thus putting an end to a year in Ligue 1 which in sporting terms has already been forgotten. Place now in 2023-2024, with changes announced in the organization of the transfer window, and the possibility of seeing new faces land in the workforce of Laurent Blanc. But, for OL supporters who would like to see their favorite team up close, they will either have to travel or wait for the resumption of the Ligue 1 season at Groupama Stadium. While tradition wanted Olympique Lyonnais to play one or more of its preparation matches in the Rhone region, this will not be the case in 2023. John Textor has decided that his club must export its summer appearances, even if it means turning the back to the fans who wanted to take advantage of the holidays in Lyon to attend friendly matches.
OL are exported during the summer, too bad for the fans.

For the moment, only one date is official, it is the very spectacular one of July 19th. OL will indeed face Manchester United at Murrayfield in Scotland. ” It’s the first time we’ve played against United in 15 years and this game will be an important part of our pre-season preparation “, had explained last May Bruno Cheyrou by evoking this programming. There are still four other friendly matches to fit into Olympique Lyonnais’ preparation schedule. However, the Olympique et Lyonnais site has already announced that they will all be played outside the borders of France. A priori a match will be played in the Netherlands during a preparation camp, but for the rest, it’s mystery and a ball of gum. And, whatever the case, except for taking the plane, the train or the car, OL supporters will only have television to find out more about the level of their favorite team.
