This is a fact that unfortunately happens too often among footballers and celebrities and Kurt Zouma (29) has paid the price. Ahead of Sunday’s London derby against Crystal Palace, West Ham said Kurt Zouma was unavailable for “personal reasons”. But in a press release published this Monday, the London club claims that the French international and his family were attacked during the burglary of his house. An organized and armed gang is said to have ransacked the central defender’s house, before stealing several valuable items. His family is said to have been traumatized since the terrible event.

“Kurt’s house was broken into on Saturday while his entire family was in the house, leaving everyone present extremely distressed. Although thankfully no one was injured, it was a traumatic experience for the West Ham defender, his wife and their young family. The burglars took items of great value and of great personal and sentimental importance to the family., it is explained in a club press release. According to The Sun, the thieves reportedly made off with jewelry, including high-end watches, worth nearly 100,000 euros, while Zouma and his family were still in a state of shock. West Ham United have offered a €22,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the burglars who broke into their home.
