The coach of the Blues, Didier Deschamps, encouraged a new French consecration in the Champions League.

Didier Deschamps is not proud that Olympique de Marseille is still the only French club to have won the Champions League.

Indeed, the ex-captain of OM and big winner of the 1993 edition against AC Milan (1-0), explained to beIN Sports that he hoped that another resident of the League 1 can one day emerge victorious from the queen competition of Europe, so that the Phocaeans are not “forever the last”.

“A pride that OM is still the only French club to have won the C1? Oh no, it’s not a source of pride, judged the coach of the France team. Forever the first but not to be forever the last. I am not against another French victory. »

A statement which risks surprising some Marseille fans, who consider that the feat achieved by the Marseille team Raymond Goethals during the Bernard Tapie era is a source of pride for the club and for the city.
