During a first act to the credit of the residents of the WWK Arena, the latter believed they opened the scoring before the half-hour mark through Félix Uduokhai, ultimately refused for offside (29th). Frankfurt was finally trapped by their opponent in the 35th minute of play, Martin Jensen taking advantage of a serve from Ermedin Demirovic to score his first goal of the season in the league (1-0). Insisting on taking shelter for good, Augsburg made the break after returning from the locker room thanks to a goal from Iago (2-0, 58th). If Ermedin Demirovic failed to knock out the Eagles once and for all (76th), his goalkeeper Finn Dahmen reignited the suspense two minutes later by scoring against his side (2-1, 78th). Simple fear since Augsburg gleaned the three points at the end of the game to continue their climb in the standings (9th).
