The Paris Saint-Germain coach will be able to rely on a new weapon in the matches to come.
This Saturday, on the eve of his team’s trip to Le Havre, Luis Enrique more or less assumed the statistical imbalance of his attackers.
“I would love to have three attackers with 17 goals like Mbappé, but it doesn’t work like that (…) We don’t depend on him. Well, yes, we depend on him. But who doesn’t depend on him (smile)? But the team is balanced. Gonçalo, Kolo, Marco (Asensio), Vitinha scored goals. Bradley and Ousmane will score goals. Many players have scored and will score…”.
The PSG coach doesn’t think he’s saying that well. If Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani are struggling to establish themselves on the attacking front, one player had shown satisfactory performance in a central attacking role: Marco Asensio. And the Spaniard, who has returned to the group, will have the opportunity to score points. He clearly emerges as an alternative to this position.
It remains to be seen whether the former Real Madrid striker will be tested this Sunday in Normandy. His complementarity with Mbappé, his movements, his sense of goal and the game could be valuable assets for the next deadlines, starting with the shock in Dortmund, where Paris will also be deprived of Ousmane Dembélé.
