With a goal from Martin Terrier, Stade Rennais won in Budapest against Maccabi Haifa (0-3), and is now assured of continuing its journey in the Europa League.
He missed a costly penalty at Villarreal (1-0 defeat) at the beginning of October, for his first match since his serious knee injury last January. Almost two months later, Martin Terrier finally found the net again, still in the Europa League, in Budapest against Maccabi Haifa.
The former Lyonnais scored a nice goal, with a nice shot at the near post following a one-two with Enzo Le Fée (29th). And Terrier, decisive passer against Reims (3-1) last Sunday, seems rather comfortable in the 3-4-2-1 set up by Julien Stéphan, the new coach of the Rouge et Noir.

Rennes at least barrier
Stade Rennais won 3-0 this Thursday in Hungary, with a second goal from Amine Gouiri (47th), who took advantage of a risky back pass from an Israeli defender to shelter his team at the start of the second half, and a surgical free kick from Fabian Rieder in added time (90th + 3).
With 12 points in five days, the Breton club is firmly at the top of its group. He is guaranteed to finish in one of the first two places in his group, and therefore to continue his journey in the Europa League next year. To reach the round of 16 directly, and avoid a perilous play-off against a Champions League loss, it will be necessary to maintain control of the group, at the expense of Villarreal, who are currently six points behind but two more matches to play, this Thursday evening against Panathinaikos and against Maccabi in a late match, before traveling to Roazhon Park in two weeks.
