To add insult to injury, star player Alexis Sanchez voiced his frustration with the appalling lack of decent facilities at the stadium, particularly highlighting the malfunctioning showers in the locker rooms. “In the Chilean locker room, there are three showers that don’t work. You have to wait for the other person to take a shower before you can take one yourself. How can it come to this? At the Colo-Colo stadium, our own waste was coming out of the shower drain. I wonder if we are a national team or a third-rate team,” Sanchez exclaimed in a press conference.
