While it seemed he should be in the Parisian group called up for the clash against Newcastle, Ethan Mbappé will have to be content with a place in the stands.

Ethan Mbappé will still have to wait before discovering the Champions League. On Monday, the younger brother of Kylian Mbappé nevertheless participated in the last training session of the professional group before the shock against Newcastle this Tuesday evening and for many, his presence in the group was a given. It is not so.

Ethan Mbappé, who appeared three times on the PSG bench in Ligue 1, without actually coming into play, will probably once again have to be content with the Youth League, where he is an executive despite being 16 years old. No youngster appears in the group, which only includes 19 players while each team can have up to 12 players on the bench during Champions League matches.

Kolo Muani to start?

If Ethan Mbappé was not selected, Marco Asensio is very present. As was already the case for the Monaco reception on Friday, the Spanish international nevertheless remained on the bench for the entire match.

For the rest, the group selected by Luis Enrique is without surprise and the composition against the Magpies should be very close to that lined up against Monaco. The only change should come up front where Randal Kolo Muani should be preferred to Gonçalo Ramos despite the Portuguese’s opening score against the Principality club.

For the rest, in the absence of Presnel Kimpembe and Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez should find the axis of defense while Nordi Mukiele should be aligned in the left lane, still orphaned by Nuno Mendes. In the midfield, Fabian Ruiz, very prominent against ASM, should once again replace Warren Zaire-Emery.
