The group of death. On August 31, Paris Saint-Germain were not really lucky during the group draw for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. Indeed, the Ile-de-France residents fell into group F with Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle. And after four days, everything is still possible for all the teams. BVB, first with 7 points, is ahead of PSG (6 points), the Rossoneri (5 points) and the Magpies (4 points). There are still two matches left to find out the two teams who will be present during the 1/8 finals in February and March 2024.

This evening, we could start to see things more clearly since Paris hosts Newcastle at the Parc des Princes. Beaten in the first leg on October 4 with a score of 4 to 1, the residents of the Parc des Princes have revenge to take at home this Tuesday. To achieve this, Luis Enrique will have to do without several injured players, like Warren Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Keylor Navas and Presnel Kimpembe. But the Asturian will still have good people at his disposal. He should therefore opt for a 4-3-3 with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the cages.

Absent on both sides

In front of him, we will find, from left to right, Nordi Mukiele, Lucas Hernandez, Milan Skriniar and Achraf Hakimi. In the midfield, the PSG coach will a priori trust Vitinha, Manuel Ugarte and Fabian Ruiz, who will therefore take advantage of the absence of WZE to find a place in the starting eleven. Finally, Kylian Mbappé, on the left, and Ousmane Dembélé, on the right, will support Randal Kolo Muani, aligned at the forefront. The latter should be preferred to Gonçalo Ramos. Opposite, Eddie Howe, whose team is playing very big this evening in the capital, should also rely on a 4-3-3 to achieve another big move.

But he will do without around ten players (9 injured and Sandro Tonali suspended, editor’s note). Thus, in front of Nick Pope, we will find a defense made up of the Livramento-Schär-Lascelles-Trippier quartet. To win the midfield battle, Howe will trust Joelinton, Bruno Guimarães and 17-year-old Lewis Miley. Finally, to lead the English attack, Alexander Isak will be supported by Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron. A team which will therefore try to bring down Paris again during a meeting which promises to be thrilling and which will be followed live with commentary on our site.
