The weeks go by and look the same for Frankfurt. Especially off lawns. While the results have been up and down since the start of the season (7th in the Bundesliga with 4 victories in 12 days), the German club once again made headlines last weekend during the defeat against Stuttgart ( 1-2). Before the meeting, the ultras fought with the police, throwing multiple projectiles, bottles, while using smoke bombs. The police responded, which gave rise to terrible scenes. A rare violence that is no longer really rare in the aisles of Deutsche Bank Park.
BILD recorded around a hundred injured, including children, hit by tear gas and blocked between the front of the ultras and that of the police. Worse, the German media reveals that “ten supporters with bleeding lacerations had to be treated by overwhelmed paramedics, while others were treated by the emergency doctor with a neck brace on a stretcher”. Ultras even threatened to break the neck of a photographer who spoke to the injured and offered them help. At the origin of this violence, many Eintracht supporters allegedly tried to enter the stadium without tickets. The police would have responded, a little too much for the taste of the ultras. Both camps pass the buck, but in the end, it is indeed the image of an entire club that is tainted.
