In chronic poor form, Sassuolo and Frosinone took advantage of the 13th day of Serie A to get back on track with respective victories over Empoli (3-4) and Genoa (2-1).
Back on the Serie A pitches after the international break, several teams have clearly taken full advantage of this two-week break. If Cagliari and Monza for their part were unable to decide between themselves (1-1), this Sunday was an opportunity for Sassuolo and Frosinone to return to success.
Traveling to Empoli, Sassuolo experienced a match punctuated by multiple twists and turns. After the locals opened the score, the visitors scored two goals to take the lead. But at the half-hour mark, Fazzini equalized for Empoli (2-2).
Decisive stoppages
In the second half, Sassuolo came back in front for the first time thanks to Berardi (66th) before Vina scored against his side, allowing Empoli to equalize (3-3, 86th). But in stoppage time, Berardi came out of his box to give the visitors victory (3-4, 90th+2). Enough to allow Sassuolo to move up to thirteenth place in the ranking.
As for Frosinone, he suffered until the end against an eye-catching Genoa. If Soule opened the scoring (1-0, 34th), the equalizer from former OM, Malinovsky, reset the scorers (1-1, 38th). And it was finally at the end of stoppage time that the locals snatched victory, with a goal from Monterisi (2-1, 90th+4). A success which makes Frosinone tenth in Serie A.
