While expressing his ambitions, Delort recognized that a frank explanation would be necessary beforehand with Djamel Belmadi. “Afterwards, we would have to have a discussion, me and the coach. But of course, to play again, it would be with pleasure and honor.”
The 2019 African champion still assured that there was no problem between him and the Fennecs coach: “The media talked about a war between me and Djamel, but there was nothing at all, otherwise he would never have called me back.”
For the CAN, he starts from very far away
Even if he displays an interesting performance in the Gulf (9 decisive gestures in 8 matches), Delort will have difficulty finding his place with Algeria. Firstly because he never really convinced with this selection (2 goals in only 15 matches). And also because the competition is getting tougher and tougher.
