As part of the investigation into the failures in the functioning of French sports federations carried out by the National Assembly, Vincent Labrune reviewed various subjects including the homophobia which is still rife in stadiums, like the incidents which occurred at Parc des Princes during the clash between PSG and OM (6th day of Ligue 1). As such, the president of the Professional Football League (LFP) does not intend to hold back and has also spoken out in favor of systematically stopping matches in the event of homophobic chants or insults sung in the stands.

“On homophobia, we are ready to go as far as possible. It’s not even that it annoys me, it drives me crazy. Questions related to homophobia drive me crazy. We must systematically interrupt the meeting, it seems to me a good measure to mark the occasion. At the Parc des Princes, it still lasted a long time. I am for systematic interruption, but I am not for definitive interruption, quite simply for a principle of reality. Otherwise, we won’t finish any matches because in every match, there are homophobic chants.”indicated the French leader.
