After Brazil’s defeat against Argentina on Tuesday, coach Fernando Diniz deplored the result, believing that his team had been the most dangerous.

Argentina won an important match against Brazil on Tuesday evening at the Maracana, during the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Thanks to a goal from Nicolas Otamendi, the Albiceleste players won with a score of 1- 0 and consolidate their position as leader in the South American region. The Seleção, for its part, has a third consecutive defeat and is sinking into crisis. A failure difficult to accept for coach Fernando Diniz.

“It was a match between two historic and very strong teams. Both teams had as many shots on goal, but Brazil was much more dangerous than Argentina. The opposing team did not have a single opportunity to score, except on this corner, on which we made a marking error. We could have equalized and taken the lead with a lot of chances on counter-attacks. We were much closer to victory than Argentina. I think the result is quite unfair,” judged Diniz.
