At the origin of the numerous revelations grouped under the name of “Football Leaks” which hit the football world, the Portuguese whistleblower, Rui Pinto, was sentenced this Wednesday in Paris to six months in prison, suspended. by the Paris judicial court for the hacking of PSG leaders. Last September, Pinto had already received a first suspended prison sentence of four years by the Portuguese courts, in another case opposing him to the investment fund Doyen Sports, for eight computer crimes and attempted extortion .
As a reminder, this case follows the complaint filed by PSG in 2019 after the revelations of possible hidden tax fraud by former players Javier Pastore and Angel Di Maria, but of supposed ethnic registration of the Parisian training center. Rui Pinto is accused of having hacked email boxes, downloaded attachments and private conversations between three PSG executives: Benoît Le Sech, director of financial affairs, Frédéric Longupée and Emilie Boisseau, a management assistant.
