Gavi was injured during Spain’s victory over Georgia in Valladolid on Sunday.
The 19-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligament and also damaged his meniscus, meaning he is expected to be out for the next nine months.
Gavi’s injury shook FC Barcelona, but it also had a big effect on Spanish football. Many players and clubs from across the country wished him luck, and Real Madrid joined them in showing their support.
Dani Carvajal and Joselu Mato have already publicly supported Gavi, and Florentino Perez has now sent a letter to the FC Barcelona star offering his support, according to Cadena COPE.
This letter comes at a time when Barcelona and Real Madrid are not on good terms off the pitch, mainly because of the Negreira affair and the Mikel Camps-Vinicius Junior incident. But all of this was put aside to make Gavi feel supported.
