According to La Provence, OM suspects an intentional reduction in Luis Henrique’s playing time by Botafogo.

The future of Luis Henrique (21 years old) is uncertain. The Brazilian striker from Olympique de Marseille signed with Botafogo last July in the form of a loan with an option to buy until the end of the year.

If the player plays 50% of his team’s matches in 2023, the purchase option of 6.5 million euros will become automatic. According to La Provence, the Marseille club suspects the current dolphin of Palmeiras of no longer playing the left winger voluntarily to avoid the purchase option being activated.

The owner of the Rio Janeiro-based club, John Textor, would indeed like to keep the player, but at a price lower than 6.5 million euros. OM, for their part, have not ruled out the idea of keeping Luis Henrique for the second part of the season. However, Ciel et Blanc may be forced to sell the player if the buy option is activated.

The situation is therefore tense between the resident of Ligue 1 and that of Brasileirão. The latter could play for time to try to negotiate a lower price for the former member of Três Passos Atlético Clube. For its part, Marseille management will have to decide whether they want to keep it or sell it.
