Liverpool winger Luis Diaz would fulfill a childhood dream if he joined FC Barcelona, according to his father.
The Colombian has been linked with a move to the Spanish club in recent weeks, following his impressive performances with the Reds. Interest in the 26-year-old was arguably boosted by his brace which gave Colombia a 2-1 win over Brazil in World Cup qualifying this week.
The winger’s father has given Barca a boost in their hopes of signing the ex-Porto star by admitting his son is a big fan of the Catalan club. Luis Manuel spoke out just over a week after being freed by the National Liberation Army (ELN), an insurgent group that kidnapped him and his wife before releasing him 12 days later.
“The truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment. It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there“, he told Win Sports. “ So far I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they welcomed and received him. Luis is a player who is easy to convince because of his way of being, his humility, his work, his dedication, he is a very disciplined player, thank God. There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team, one of the best in the world.
