A new door could close for Zinedine Zidane, as Real Madrid consider extending Carlo Ancelotti’s contract.
Without a job for more than two years now, Zinedine Zidane still does not know where and when he will return to service. The former number 10 of the Blues wanted to take control of the France team, but Didier Deschamps is not about to give up his place. And since there aren’t many more clubs that could suit him, a return to Real Madrid was an option for ‘Zizou’.
This promises to be complicated, because the White House has the idea of extending Carlo Ancelotti’s contract. The Italian technician is coveted by the Brazilian selection, but Real would like to offer him a new two-year lease, Relevo explained this Friday. Ancelotti is a trusted man of Florentino Perez, and the Madrid president would like to rely on his experience to supervise a team whose executives are very young (Bellingham, Camavinga, Vinicius, Rodrygo and soon Endrick…).
Too bad for Zidane, who could have been an option for Real in the event of Ancelotti’s departure, even if Relevo instead cites two other names: that of Raul, who is learning with Castilla, the reserve team; and especially that of Xabi Alonso, a veteran of the house, who is currently doing remarkable work with Bayer Leverkusen.
