Penalized by 10 points, Everton plunged to penultimate place in the English Championship standings.

If the Premier League stopped today, Everton would play next season on the lower floor. The other Liverpool club now occupies 19th and penultimate place in the ranking for a financial crime.

The English club was deducted 10 points by an independent commission, the Premier League said on Friday. Everton are found guilty of “ breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The Toffees recorded a loss of 124.5 million pounds sterling (around 142 million euros) in 2021-2022, exceeding the threshold of 105 million authorized by the regulations, explains the communicated of the PL.

Everton reacted by announcing that they would appeal this decision.
