Former player and coach of Olympique de Marseille, Henri Stambouli died this Friday in Dakar. He was only 62 years old.
He is a man well known to Olympique de Marseille supporters who left on Friday. Aged sixty-two, Henri Stambouli has passed away, according to information from Unecatef, the coaches union. Although he only played three matches in the colors of OM between 1986 and 1989, the goalkeeper trained at AS Monaco was nonetheless the coach of the Marseille club, once his career of player completed, with a title of champion of second division at stake.

Several positions at OM
Also coach of the Olympique de Marseille reserves (1989-1992 and 1995-1997) and later director of the club’s training center (2010-2013), Henri Stambouli then held the position of coach of Guinea, Mali or even Togo. He also played for the Moroccan clubs Raja CA and FAR Rabat. His last position was that of coach of the Algerian club JS Kabylie, in 2021.
