We can say that Jude Bellingham has integrated perfectly into Real Madrid. The 20-year-old has made a remarkable start to his career in the Spanish capital, scoring 13 goals in his first 14 appearances for Los Blancos.
British players have often struggled to live up to expectations at Real Madrid, but Bellingham has been very convincing so far. Gareth Bale, the last British player to play for Los Blancos, however, gave Bellingham some valuable advice on how to succeed at the club, during a TV show called A League of Their Own.
“He has to play the game at Real Madrid, because if you are not a puppet for the media you will receive a lot of criticism. A lot of Galacticos do what the press wants, they play that game – that’s probably why I had such a downfall there. He has to speak Spanish…”
“I didn’t want to (play for the media), I just wanted to play football and go home. It embarrassed me and the press attacked me a little more.”
Bale enjoyed a lot of success at Real Madrid during his early years at the club, but that faded towards the end of his stay. Bellingham hopes it won’t be the same for him.
