Paul Pogba’s agent has recalled an interview with Sir Alex Ferguson that went like a “train wreck” and during which the legendary Manchester United manager lost his cool.
The French midfielder was promoted to United’s first team in 2011 by Ferguson ahead of an FA Cup fifth round match against Crawley Town. However, he only made one appearance before being permanently included in the team for the 2011-2012 campaign. During his time at Old Trafford, there was a heated argument between the manager and the late Mino Raiola, recounted by Rafaela Pimenta in an interview with Guardian.
Pimenta said: “I call it a train wreck. It started badly, it ended badly. Sir Alex came in and he was so angry he hit the table and our tea spilled everywhere. He was completely red. Mino was totally angry. It was a disaster.
Pogba was provisionally suspended after failing a doping test following Juventus’ 3-0 victory over Udinese on August 20. However, he could be banned for two to four years after his B sample also tested positive for doping. Pimenta revealed that his entourage was already working on an appeal.
“ We are working on (an appeal) but, as a lawyer, I am the first to believe that if something is to be discussed on a legal level, it should remain that way. But I still have hope”, she added. Pogba will not be able to play at the moment, with his ban extended indefinitely. It has been reported that his salary at Juventus could be reduced to just 2,000 euros per month and his contract could be terminated.
