OL have found their future recruitment director in the person of Matthieu Louis-Jean, currently under contract with… OM. This could further complicate the Lyon transfer window.

At the helm of Olympique Lyonnais for a few weeks, John Textor has already made some strong decisions such as the dismissal of Jean-Michel Aulas. The historic president of OL has been ousted and the American businessman has every intention of restructuring the Rhone club in his own way. The idea is in particular to rebuild the recruiting and scouting sector with a new director of recruiting.

Longoria blocks Matthieu Louis-Jean, under contract with OM

The ideal man in the eyes of John Textor was found on the side of Olympique de Marseille in the person of Matthieu Louis-Jean. However for the moment, the latter has still not been presented by Olympique Lyonnais. There is a reason for this according to Le Progrès, which explains in its edition of the day that Pablo Longoria did not authorize Matthieu Louis-Jean to engage with another club. It must be said that the future head of recruitment for OL and linked to OM until June 30, 2023.

And on the side of Pablo Longoria and the staff of Olympique de Marseille, we do not intend to make the slightest gift to a rival club. With the delayed appointment of its next recruitment boss, OL are automatically falling behind in the summer transfer window, and this is indeed the main purpose of the maneuver by the Marseille staff.

Bruno Cheyrou nevertheless remains an important leader of Les Gones for the moment and continues to prospect to find the players that Laurent Blanc is missing. The Lyon sports director was on a trip to Rio with John Textor. This does not mean that he is no longer in the hot seat, while his future like that of Vincent Ponsot remains in suspense for the moment. OL may be waiting to be able to formalize the arrival of Matthieu Louis-Jean before making new decisions about their sports organization and in particular in the field of recruitment.
