Put under pressure by Bayern Munich winning Heidenheim (4-2), Bayer Leverkusen had to react against Union Berlin to hope to regain the lead in the Bundesliga. A match very quickly taken in hand by Xabi Alonso’s team. Nicely found behind by Florian Wirtz, Alejandro Grimaldo scored with a sublime strike under the crossbar (1-0, 23rd). In the second half, Bayer Leverkusen accelerated.
