A “sold” match in Ligue 1?

Former RC Lens player, Franck Queudrue has rather bitter memories of László Bölöni’s time at the head of the Sang et Or.

Franck Queudrue was a player who never gave up on the pitch, and the former RC Lens full-back did not forget how to distribute tackles, even several years after the end of his career. The player who played for Middlesbourgh remembers a chaotic end to the season. “ In Lens, he weighed us down a bit in 2010-2011. He only fielded young players and no attackers: we played 4-6-0. The highest player was Geoffrey Kondogbia, a defensive midfielder by trade. We took 4-0. »

This Lens composition is certainly one of the “worst” in the history of Ligue 1. To contextualize, Lens was already condemned to relegation, while Nancy was still threatened. ASNL was in 17th place at kick-off, with only one point ahead of Monaco, the first to be relegated. The Lorraine club finally escaped without trembling, thanks to its 4-0 success which even allowed it to overtake Montpellier, Caen, Metz and Nice to finish in 13th place. As Monaco lost against Lyon (0-2), Nancy (of which Bölöni was the coach between 1994 and 2000) would have remained even with a defeat against Lens.
