Bruna Biancardi, the girlfriend of Brazil and Al-Hilal striker Neymar, has issued a statement after her parents were robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old influencer was not present when three armed robbers entered her parents’ house in Cotia, Sao Paulo.
It was revealed on Tuesday that the attackers were allowed entry through a member residing in the same condominium. They allegedly tied up Ms. Biancardi’s parents, without harming them, and fled, taking several luxury items.
In a statement posted on her Instagram page, Ms Biancardi wrote: “ Thank you for all the messages of affection. I will clarify some points about what happened yesterday, thereby quashing the spread of false information. »
“The matter is already in the hands of the relevant authorities and justice will be served. To date, the delegate in charge of the investigation has noted that this is a material theft! Comforted by the fact that the thieves managed to find the valuables“.
Initial reports suggested the robbery was an attempted kidnapping of Biancardi and Neymar’s newborn daughter. This would go against the statements written on the model’s Instagram story.
CCTV footage showed three members arriving by car, while Brazil’s Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) confirmed on Tuesday that a suspect – the one who allowed them access to the condominium – had been arrested.
“ This is not an easy situation for anyone”continues Mr. Biancardi’s message, “especially for a family who never intended to have their lives exposed in this way. Finally, we ask for respect and discretion during this very delicate period.”
Neymar, who was also absent at the time of the theft, did not make a statement on the matter.
