Canal+, the disaster

Canal+’s choice not to broadcast the clash between PSG and Milan on its premier channel went down badly with its subscribers.

The shocks keep coming for PSG in the group of death. On Tuesday, the capital club met on the San Siro pitch for the second round against AC Milan, two weeks after a convincing success at the Parc against the Rossoneri. But this time, Luis Enrique’s men could not withstand the shock and lost 2-1 in Lombardy. A defeat that many Canal+ subscribers were unable to watch.

For the first time this season, the Canal group had decided not to broadcast the meeting on its premium channel. To watch the match, you had to be a subscriber to Canal+ Foot, accessible in the Sport pack. A strong choice which confirms that football is definitely not popular with the decision-makers of the encrypted channel and which has provoked the anger of many subscribers as evidenced by the reactions on social networks.

This choice of Canal is also explained by the good performances achieved by Lens since the start of the Champions League. Because in the absence of PSG, the Sang et Or will be entitled to the honors of Canal premium, Wednesday, for their trip to the pitch of PSV Eindhoven.
