This Monday evening, in north London, Tottenham welcomes Chelsea as part of the 11th day of the Premier League. A necessarily special poster for Mauricio Pochettino, who will reunite with his former team with whom he failed in the Champions League final in 2019 against Liverpool. At Spurs, the Argentinian had established himself as one of the best tacticians in Europe, but he must not let emotions take precedence at Tottenham Stadium. At a press conference, Mauricio Pochettino made some rather strange statements about his evening opponent, implying a potential return in the future.

“I hope I can stay here (at Chelsea) until I die! 20 or 25 years old, but you never know in football. Of course, if I don’t work, maybe if they want me one day, why not? We have to enjoy today and I think at 51 I’m thinking more about that, enjoying today and not looking too far into the future, long term. But why not ?”. The Chelsea coach knows it, so far he has failed to get the fans in his pocket. “I hope we can get to the same level I had at Tottenham. Because that would mean we’re doing really well here. But I can’t lie, for the moment no. It’s a difficult situation.”, he explains. Words that should not help his case.
