Erik ten Hag has praised Harry Maguire after the centre-back produced another good performance on the Fulham pitch.
Maguire’s performance caught the eye during United’s 1-0 win. While he looked set to leave Old Trafford this summer, the defender continued to grow in confidence as he fended off Fulham’s aerial assaults with relative ease.
At the post-match press conference, Ten Hag said: “(Maguire) played a huge, huge match. A very good performance. He showed leadership and he was very good in and out of possession, so I’m very happy with Harry’s performance.
On the verge of a move to West Ham, Maguire established himself within United’s defence. With Raphaël Varane left on the bench, Maguire showed he could be harder to dislodge than the United defender returning from injury thought.
The former Leicester player expects to start against Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
