Second in the Premier League after 10 days, Arsenal have had a high-level start to the season from an accounting point of view. But the Gunners show some flaws, in the Champions League in particular. The fault lies with a squad weighed down by injuries. Up front, players like Emile Smith-Rowe and Gabriel Jesus are fragile. Enough to fuel the rumors linking the London club to Ousmane Dembélé in particular.

But Emmanuel Petit doesn’t want it. “He repeatedly wastes chances and doesn’t score goals. It’s been a difficult start for him (at PSG), so I can’t bring Dembele to Arsenal.”, he declares. The former Gunners player tends rather towards another profile, that of Ivan Toney. “I’m a big fan of Ivan Toney. He’s done a great job with Brentford, and I’m not surprised they’ll struggle without him. Brentford are not the same team without Toney and the package he brings: his goals, his mentality and his behavior. Whoever gets Toney in January, if he leaves, will get a good deal. If Arsenal have a chance to sign him, they should go after him.”
